Getting ready for school

I can't believe the time is here where we are doing back to school shopping, parent orientations and just preparing ourselves for what is about to happen. How did my little boy grow up so fast. I thought I would have so much more time than this. I have been home everyday with him since he was born and it has just flown by. I don't know how 5 and a half years have gone by so quickly!!! I am feeling a little uneasy about Kyle starting school. On certain days I am happy and excited for him and on other days I feel like I am handing my kid over to some stranger and cutting the cord and letting him go. This is so hard for me. He is ready for this. I am ready for this, in ways. I look back at pictures from a year ago when he had more babyish features and I just want to cry. We will never be able to get these days back and that is sad to me. I miss the small snuggles and the first giggles. I want that back. On a happier note I know that this year will be just amazing for Kyle. He is the complete opposite of what I was like at his age. I was quiet, shy and scared of my own shadow. Kyle is full of personality, confidence and is just so outgoing that he will just flourish in a school enviroment, oh and I forgot to say extremely smart. I can't wait to pack his little lunches, walk him to his class every morning and pick him up everyday, do homework and meet his new friends. Exciting new adventures are in store for all of us.
